Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer to join our team, focusing on setting up A/B tests within the Optimizely platform to drive experimentation programs on the merchant websites. In this role, you will work closely with a strategist to bring innovative ideas to life on the web, ensuring engaging, high-performing user experiences. This role requires a strong command of CSS, JavaScript, and HTML, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical details in simple terms when necessary. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with a strategist to translate concepts into functional, testable web experiences, and effectively communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders (as needed) Own end-to-end A/B test configurations within Optimizely, including build, metrics definition, audience selection, URL targeting, and rigorous pre-/post-launch QA. Contribute to ongoing enhancements of the client's web widget product, identifying opportunities for improvements and proposing new features to drive innovation and better user experiences where feasible. Update widget code to create targeted widget experiences using session-based logic—such as new vs. returning, logged-in vs. logged-out, lapsed customers, and geo-based targeting—as well as other methods informed by the dataLayer, session storage, or local storage. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of web development experience Bachelor’s degree or strong experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong proficiency in CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. Hands-on experience with the Optimizely platform (or other A/B testing platforms) and familiarity with A/B testing methodologies. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong communication skills, especially in translating complex technical information into accessible language.
