Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Remote - Canada | Contract
We have an awesome long-term contract opportunity for two mid-senior/senior Full-Stack Engineers to join a Canadian client in the banking/financial services industry. They're rebuilding their customer portal from scratch (and other projects, too!) and need someone with full-stack knowledge to join their team for a long-term, fully remote contract. The successful candidate can be located anywhere in Latin America, but you'll need to be available for at least 4 hours overlapping the PST time zone. You'll need to have good communication skills (B2+ or higher) for this role.
To be considered for this role, you'll need to be an experienced full-stack engineer with over a few years of experience (5+ years, ideally). You're a team player and a problem solver, and you enjoy working with your fellow team members. You have a growth mindset and always seek opportunities to grow. Your communication style is open, concise, and effective; you can easily explain technical concepts to non-technical parties. You care about the product and the end-user. You're also a process-builder; we enjoy working with engineers who are ready to help improve our processes and make them more scalable.
Mandatory requirements:
5+ years of full-stack software development experience
Strong proficiency with Node.js for backend development.
Experience with React (ideally, v.17) for front-end development.
Solid experience working with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerization with Docker).
Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
Solid experience with common design patterns for building scalable and maintainable applications.
Experience working in an agile development environment.

Banking/Financial Services/Fintech industry experience is a plus

Familiarity with Serverless architecture on AWS
Experience writing own unit tests
