This position is a unique opportunity to work with the most well-known companies in the fintech space, while still experiencing the fast pace and product ownership typical of startups. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and well-round software engineering. You will be working on both internal and external (customer-owned) systems, which will give you a 365 degree view of the fintech space. The candidate we are looking has prior experience that matches what follows. All of the requirements below will be discussed during the interview process (more on that further below). The position is open for contractors, but they must be available to work 40 hours/week. Software development Top-notch proficiency with both Python and Go. Good understanding of ReactJS. Five or more years of experience developing web applications in both Python and Go. Software engineering Top-notch understanding of advanced algorithms and complex data structures. Five or more years of experience maintaining production systems (both web services and not). Five or more years of experience with cloud computing services (AWS preferred). Advanced understanding of computer networks, web systems architectures, build systems (and/or compilers). Other qualifications (preferred, not strictly needed) Experience with working in nimble teams Experience with delivering products and iterate features at fast pace Experience with Scrum methodologies. **APPLICATION PROCESS** Hiring for this role will proceed in four steps. 1) Submit an application letter Keep your application letter brief (two pages recommended). This interview will challenge you to write code that covers all of the requirements listed above in Software Development, and the first requirement listed above in Software Engineering. This step will take 45 minutes. 3) Technical interview with one of our engineers We will invite you to an online interview with one of our engineers. This interview will cover the remaining requirements listed above in Software Engineering. This step will take 60 minutes. 4) Two weeks onboarding project (paid) Congratulations! In the final step we will onboard you in our team, you will get assigned to your first project and work very closely with our CTO to complete your first two-weeks deliverable. This project will be part-time (20 hrs/week) and paid at the same hourly rate of your full-time engagement. At the end of the two weeks, you will review the work done with the team and discuss next steps.
