Are you a seasoned PHP developer with a passion for clean code, modern frameworks, and engineering excellence? I'm currently working with a market-leading automotive business, headquartered in the Midlands, who are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing remote team.
This is a fully remote role with flexible working hours, though you'll need to be available during core hours of 9am-5pm.
?? What You'll Be Doing:
You'll hit the ground running with a high-profile migration project - moving their legacy CakePHP systems over to Laravel. This is a key part of their digital transformation journey, and you'll be right at the centre of it.
Beyond the migration, you'll be:
Building out new features
Squashing bugs and improving performance
Assisting with deployment and release management
Working across a modern DevOps environment
?? Tech Stack You'll Be Working With:
PHP (CakePHP & Laravel)
JavaScript (Vue.js or jQuery)
CI/CD Pipelines
DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, etc.)
SQL databases
3rd party API integrations
? What We're Looking For:
Strong experience in CakePHP and Laravel
Solid front-end skills with Vue.js or jQuery
Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
Confident working with SQL and integrating with external APIs
A self-starter who can thrive in a remote-first environment
