Salesforce Software Engineer About Focus Focus is a minority-owned digital services firm dedicated to delivering on projects with social impact in the civic tech space. Our work addresses critical challenges in equity, healthcare, benefits, and education. Our design team has worked on a wide range of projects for federal and state government agencies. We are currently working with the IRS and Grants.gov to modernize current systems and workflows. We are a small team that is steadily growing and we want you on board to help us shape our future. We are a fully remote team and all employees must be located within the continental US. Some of our projects may have an occasional need to travel, ~1 to 2 times a year. About the role You will be joining the New Jersey Unemployment Modernization program as backend engineer. This is an exciting to join a team that is modernizing a 50 year old system and transforming the way unemployment claims are handled in the state. What you’ll do: Senior Salesforce Engineer that will work with an Architect and junior developers to decide and implement modernization strategies Implement and deploy custom salesforce functions and UIS Review code pull requests by your colleagues Create technical specs to explore approaches to upcoming tasks Review technical specs written by colleagues Work on minor cloud infrastructure updates using terraform Update documentation and knowledge base as needed Attend team meetings (sprint planning, standup, retrospectives) Requirements Need-to-have At least 5 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale Salesforce applications Understanding of user interface design best practices Stakeholder management and communication abilities Experience working within cross-functional teams Lived in the US for 3 out of the last 5 years Nice-to-have Experience working in the civic tech space Experience working on enterprise or complex systems Experience with AWS and SQL databases a plus Python experience Experience with Salesforce Lightning UI Thank you for taking the time to consider this role.
