This CRM project will gather requirements for, plan, and develop, and implement a state, tribal, local, or territorial (STLT) Portal that will serve as a “one-stop shop” for STLT communications, resources, support, and access to CDC DMI services, tools and systems. It will be the gateway by which STLTs will be able to request and receive technical assistance and operational support, search and locate available technical resources, models, analytical tools and data.
Position Requirements
The DMAC STLT Engagement System team is seeking an experienced Information Architect. In this role, you will work closely with the client and UX team to identify the current and future information architecture and user needs of the system. Working on an agile team, you’ll provide the large-scale information hierarchy architecture design and define the information hierarchy. This includes documenting and communicating specifications and guidelines to the UX and development teams and test and validate the changes. You will ensure that the design follows required standards while also keeping the end-user at the center of your work.
Key Responsibilities
Identify the current/future information architecture and user needs of the system
Define the information hierarchy, categories, labels, and relationships of site content and features
Provide an information hierarchy architecture design for the system as required by project leadership
Document and communicate specifications and guidelines to the UX and development teams (e.g., how to tag and arrange content to align to the information hierarchy architecture, including for navigation, layouts and flows)
Test and validate the usability, accessibility, and coherence of the information architecture with users and stakeholders in coordination with the UX team, and incorporate any needed changes back into the information hierarchy and design
Ensure seamless integration of information hierarchy into design solutions across all aspects of the project lifecycle
Assist in the preparation of presentations and design documentation, articulating design rationale and recommendations to project team and stakeholders
You have:
5+ years of experience designing information hierarchies, such as developing conceptual models, taxonomies, and content hierarchies to organize information effectively and show relationships of site content and features
Experience with developing sitemaps, navigation systems, and prototypes to illustrate layout and user flows
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, United States Web Design System (UWDS), and WordPress in building deliverables
Experience with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
Experience providing recommendations to address current and future user needs
Experience with the design process, including synthesizing user research, information architecture, visual layout, interaction design, and usability testing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-cutting project teams and diverse stakeholders
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
Ability to obtain a public trust security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Nice to have:
Experience working on Agile projects and adhering to sprint-based development
Experience working in Health or Government related industries
