Our client, a leading investor in financial markets, are looking for an autonomous, critical thinking, Site Reliability Engineer to join their team in Singapore. The ideal candidate must have a strong academic background, having graduated from a top university with a bachelor's degree in computer science. This degree should have been applied practically, showcasing expertise in system reliability, automation, and performance monitoring. A deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, and containerisation technologies is essential. Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and configuration management tools is required. You will be integrating software and systems engineering expertise to develop and maintain the systems that drive investment strategies at high speed and scale. You will be focusing on reducing complexity and enhancing performance across the organisation, offering early support for applications in development and ensuring seamless operation in production. Key responsibilities: Understand end-to-end application flows at a business level. Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of production applications. Automate recurring tasks and proactively address systemic issues. Identify root causes of issues and implement permanent resolutions. Lead incident management and provide both tactical and strategic solutions. Required skills and qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM discipline. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. Proficiency in Python. Familiarity with software development tools and practices, including testing, source control, build systems, and CI/CD.
