Software Developers are responsible for serving the business and contributing to its success. Such service will be realized by championing personal, team, departmental, and company goals and strategies with a commitment to excellence and a spirit of perseverance.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED (2-5 YEARS):
Service-side experience
Development frameworks: .Net, C#, Angular, ASP.Net, MVC, Entity Framework 5+
Web/E-Commerce: XML, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, jQuery
Tools: Visual Studio 2022, IIS, TFS
Desktop software: Microsoft Office Suite
OS: Windows
Concepts: Object-Oriented, Relational Database Design, N-Tier Design
Database: Oracle, Oracle SQL, PLSQL
API development
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED:
Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies
Requirements gathering
Relational database analysis and design
Troubleshooting software applications and interfaces
Travel industry experience
Global Distribution System (GDS) experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and enhance business software
Follow technology standards for analysis, design, programming, testing, and support
Develop clear business requirements
Resolve data processing problems with peers and users
Suggest process improvements
Collaborate with team members
Cross-train to support team members
Promote positive relationships
Ensure zero defect products for QA and production
Improve system availability, performance, and workflow

EDUCATION
The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field and 2-4 years of development experience, and/or 5-6 years related experience with the technology required of the open position.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The following teams make up the Technology department: Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, Applications Development, Applications Support, and Engineering. The group identifies and develops technological strategies that support GVI’s business goals and objectives to ensure internal and external partners are provided with stable systems. These include: all desktop, network, phone and email systems, applications (reservations and operations systems), websites, and Internet access.
