About the role

As an embedded software developer, you have an excellent opportunity to join an exciting team developing and maintaining Vaisala’s IoT devices. Your work will involve prototyping new product concepts, as well as maintaining existing product firmware. You will work in the experienced software development team but also collaborate closely with other stakeholders such as hardware engineer, mechanical engineer, and product management. We hope you have good skills in technical problem solving, as well as a bold and growth-oriented attitude towards the work. Your workplace is mainly located at Vaisala’s office in Vantaanlaakso while occasional remote work is possible.

We are looking for

• Suitable technical background e.g. engineering
• Prior embedded systems programming experience with Linux, Embedded Linux and/or a modern RTOS
• A very good command of the C language
• Fluent written and spoken skills in English

The following are seen as an advantage

• Product development experience with Zephyr RTOS
• Ability to contribute to support processes and tooling e.g. Python scripts, CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of cellular networks or other wireless network technologies, especially in low-power, resource-constrained environments
• Understanding of secure internet communication protocols such as DTLS or X.509 device certificates.
