Responsibilities

The Software Development Engineer (SDE) contributes in all areas of development as a member of an Agile Scrum team. Team members will have areas of strength and some level of specialization, but must be adept at learning tools and languages that enable the team member to participate in all areas of product development. Being adaptable and knowledgeable in multiple domains enables the team members to swarm or fill gaps in order to meet commitments.

JOB DUTIES

• The SDE II will design, develop, modify, and evaluate complete software for technical areas of the Guidewire xCenters
• The SDE II is expected to quickly debug complex problems and recommend best practices for process and performance improvements of the system
• The SDE II invests in learning and experimentation to expedite Customization and integration (Intra and inter-system integration) using REST, Messaging, Plugin, and SOAP APIs.
• Investing in our Agile practice to continuously improve product quality, time to market, and team member happiness
• Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Software development expertise in the in the Property and Casualty insurance domain
• Proficient with Guidewire xCenters version 10.x and experience in Cloud Implementation is a plus
• Ability to design, build and implement integrations from scratch
• Experience working on projects using Agile methodology

Skills

• Demonstrates software development excellence (software is simple, understandable, reusable, and secure)
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices and tools, including designing automated workflows, optimizing build processes, and implementing deployment strategies
• Well-versed with all Guidewire xCenters configuration areas like PCF, Gosu, Business Rules, LOB Model Configuration, Wizards, Workflows, Activities, etc.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Preferred to be ACE or Associate Certified in Guidewire xCenters

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent requireduired
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field; and/or commensurate experience preferrederred

Experience

• 2-4 years experience in software development required

Salary

The base salary range for this role is: USD $88,000.00 to $162,900.00. At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
