JOB POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Manager who will be responsible for managing software development engineers, including human resource management, overall program assignments, and creating consistency and efficiencies within the software development teams. In addition to managerial responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the codebase, perform architectural reviews, and lead by example in solving complex technical challenges.
Your responsibilities will include leading, coaching, monitoring performance, and supporting the members of the software development team, as well as hands-on coding and architectural contributions. You will establish attainable and traceable goals in collaboration with team members and manage shifting priorities for the various platforms that Mosaic Learning supports. You must be a full-stack developer, but your primary responsibility will be leading and mentoring the team(s). Coordination with the various other managers and team leads across projects is essential to the role. Additionally, the responsibilities include formulating strategies to overcome departmental challenges and actively participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and solving production issues as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Must have lead teams before either as a Team Lead or Manager
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Strong sense of team and group collaboration
Strong understanding of cloud technology
Must be comfortable with asking questions as needed and working out solutions with team members
Extraordinary ethics and compassion for your colleagues
Understanding of issue tracking systems, such as Jira
Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git
Thorough understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5 and CSS3
Good understanding of JavaScript (ES6+)
Good understanding of PHP (v7+)
Strong understanding of accessibility and security compliance
Strong time management skills including the ability to work well under pressure, plan and set priorities, and adapt to change
Strong ability to work with multiple languages in different scenarios
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
Experience with a well-known SPA framework/library (1 or more of the following) is a must: React.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, Ember.js or similar.
