Sr. Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

• You will be brought on as a contractor to contribute to a specific, high-impact project aimed at building and maintaining FCC-compliant technologies.
• You will collaborate closely with the product team, engineers, and key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
• You will participate in and support the documentation of technical decisions relevant to the project's objectives.
• You bring a solutions-oriented mindset, focused on efficiently addressing project challenges and delivering high-quality results within the project timeline.
• Your strong communication skills will enhance collaboration in an asynchronous and fully remote environment.

Skills / Experience You Have:

• 5-10 years engineering experience: Expertise in building, maintaining, and scaling highly available and performant web platforms, specifically with the ability to contribute quickly to project-based work.
• Languages: Proven track record in building, shipping, and scaling Java applications, with expertise in Python for modern lambda applications.
• Databases: Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with relational databases.
• Source Control: Solid knowledge of Git or similar source control tools, with experience working in Agile environments.
• Cloud Solutions: Experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions, able to plan and execute cloud architecture efficiently via Terraform
• Results-Oriented: Strong focus on delivering specific project milestones within the defined contract period, with strategic thinking and excellent communication.

Skills / Experience Preferred:

• Knowledge of least privilege principle, application structure and OOP patterns.
• Experience working in or developing in a CI/CD environment
