Software Engineer Metronet is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and integrate ESRI ArcGIS maps into applications, build web interfaces using React, and create RESTful APIs with Node.js. The role involves working within an Agile framework to define application requirements, designing efficient databases, and delivering high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities include developing and implementing unit tests, participating in deployment activities, and maintaining existing applications. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 3-5 years of enterprise application development experience, and proficiency in Agile methodologies, React, and ESRI ArcGIS. Experience with Node.js, RESTful API development, and Typescript is a plus. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and integrate ESRI ArcGIS maps into applications Develop web interfaces in React to support our construction teams Create RESTful APIs using Node.js to facilitate communication between different applications. Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to define and analyze application requirements within an Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Design and model efficient databases to support the functionality of enterprise applications. Develop, test, debug, and implement high-quality, maintainable software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks. Develop and implement unit test plans to ensure the functionality and quality of developed code. Participate in go-live planning activities and ensure smooth deployment of new applications Maintain and update existing applications to address bugs, improve functionality, and adapt to changing requirements Stay up-to-date on the latest tools, technologies, and industry best practices in application development Assist in other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred) Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in enterprise application development Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) Experience with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, C#) Proficiency in database design and modeling (e.g., SQL) Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Jest) Experience in React Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Experience with Typescript (a plus) Experience with Node.js and RESTful API development (a plus) Experience with Pega Platform development (a plus) Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills Join us and find out what it means to love your career!
