Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CoreBoot Development: Design/develop and customize CoreBoot for ARM based Space Grade Single Board Computers
Work with multi-disciplinary teams in all phases of SBC development life cycle: Design -> Implementation -> Platform Bring-Up -> Testing/Qualification -> Release
Boot Support: Provide support to our engineering staff, addressing boot up related issues, ensuring the robustness of our space rated products.
Work with standard bus specifications: PCIe, SPI, I2C
Play an integral role in designing & coding frameworks that other team members can use for implementing software solutions; able to dive into pre-existing frameworks in order to add new features, fix bugs, or refactor code
Lead projects and team members working on those projects including assisting in all parts of the development cycle, creating schedules, guiding less experienced engineers, assisting with workload, and overcoming difficult-to-solve problems
Identify inefficiencies & problems within company processes and tools and drive solution to these problems including pitching ideas, receiving buy-in from other teams, and spearheading development
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for software enhancements and new products
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Computer Engineering (Bachelor's degree) or Computer Science (Bachelor's degree) or Software Engineering (Bachelor's degree)
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline
(12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
(6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree
(3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhD.
Minimum of 5 years of coreboot development
Knowledgeable with coreboot boot stages, device tree concept, and payloads to OS bootloader handoff
Knowledgeable with coreboot build tools and build processes
Knowledgeable with coreboot payloads like UEFI, U-Boot, etc.
Strong low-level software development background. Familiar with common protocols: PCIe, SPI, I2C, KCS
Proficient in C, C++, and Assembly language a plus
Strong understanding of ARM Computer architecture
Good understanding of Linux required
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
Pay Range: $121,424 - $154,681 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
