Software Resources has an immediate, contract job opportunity for a REMOTE Software Engineer. Candidates need experience managing a data catalogue with Alation

Pay Rate: $80 -$89/hr DOE
Description:
As a Software Engineer on the DX GRC team, you will lead the development and implementation of Data Governance tools and applications. Working closely with product managers and data owners you will expand and maintain robust Data Catalog and Data Quality platforms.
Develop, implement, and manage the organization's data catalog
Establish and maintain metadata management practices to enhance data discoverability and usability
Collaborate with engineering and business units to integrate the data catalog with existing data and BI sources
Facilitate the adoption of the data catalog by conducting training sessions for stakeholders across various departments
Work with data governance teams to align data cataloging and metadata management practices with overall data governance frameworks and policies
Implement and monitor data quality metrics and standards within the data catalog to ensure high-quality data documentation and metadata management
Lead the development of metadata standards and practices, including the definition of data attributes, taxonomies, and classification schemes
Write scripts using APIs of the Data Catalog and Data Quality tools for use by the GRC team and business partners
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with Python, SQL, AWS, Snowflake
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and assess software errors to develop and implement solutions
Communication and interpersonal skills for interacting directly with partners, internal customers, and users
Technical proficiency with data cataloging tools and platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a user or admin of Alation Data Catalog and Anomalo Data Quality Tools
Understanding of data cataloging principles, metadata management, and data governance frameworks
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
