THE ROLE
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of software engineers in the design, development, and deployment of our solutions. You will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact features and system enhancements. Your leadership will drive the technical direction and best practices within the engineering team, while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence.
Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality solutions on time and within scope.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations to help engineers grow in their careers.
Promote agile methodologies and continuous delivery practices across the engineering team.
Technical Ownership:
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
Lead architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and maintainability of the solutions.
Ensure that the engineering team follows best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and code reviews.
Drive technical debt reduction and process improvements while balancing new feature development with system stability.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and timelines.
Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery of product features.
Participate in regular status meetings, provide progress updates, and escalate issues when necessary.
Project Management & Execution:
Manage the engineering team’s workload, ensuring the timely delivery of software projects that meet business needs and objectives.
Track project progress using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and adjust resources or timelines as needed.
Continuously assess team productivity and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead efforts to improve software engineering processes, testing practices, and deployment pipelines.
Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, and implement them where appropriate.
Drive innovation by encouraging experimentation and leveraging new technologies within the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills:
Proven experience as a software developer within structured software development approach with a strong background in Microsoft Dynamics (Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dynamics CRM).
5+ years of report development experience using SSRS within a MS Dynamics and/or MS Power Platform environment
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, JavaScript, and modern web technologies (e.g., React, Angular, TypeScript, Git).
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server and Azure SQL.
Knowledge of integration patterns, Dataverse Web API design, Model-Driven application Client Api experience and web services (REST, SOAP, etc.).
Thorough testing experience especially with North52.
Excellent FetchXML development experience.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Leadership & Communication:
5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams including hiring.
Ability to make decisions under pressure and effectively prioritize multiple initiatives.
Problem Solving & Innovation:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
Passion for staying ahead of industry trends and leveraging new technologies to deliver innovative solutions.
