State specific pay scales for this role are as follows: The compensation range for CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, and MA is $48,835 to $87,903. The compensation range for NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, and ME is $44,395 to $79,911. The compensation range for UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, and WV is $39,956 to $71,920. The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location. Position Summary: Under the direction of experienced Software Quality Engineers, the purpose of this position is to develop automated testing scripts and tools that support the testing of new or modified software programs. At this level, the Software QA Engineer Associate will be responsible for participating in one project at a time. Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions: Develops and implements automated script and programs which support the automation of individual test cases Understands reusable test patterns, the testing strategy and plan best used to test changes to applications Learn technical tools used in testing Researches software systems in order to understand existing functionalities and impacts of potential changes Reviews and obtains a detailed understanding of the project scope, requirements, and design in order to utilize the appropriate test method to test against them. Executes test cases and logs results including defects Qualifications: Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field Experience: Six (6) months of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Solid understanding of computer programming and software development (Java, C#) Knowledge of API (Web Services) concepts Able to analyze user specifications, logically plan, coordinate, develop and test new or existing computer programs to resolve problems or enhance system. Basic working knowledge of insurance terminology. Working knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, Access). Requires critical attention to detail and motivation to efficiently complete assigned projects. Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Must be accountable and take direction from supervisor, follow work rules, and keep required work schedules, which include regular and predictable job attendance. Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, and vendors. Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels in the organization. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions. Ability to thrive in cross-functional matrix work environment.
