JOB PURPOSE The Digital Product Model (DPM) Support Engineer I is responsible for support of the Honda DPM systems. This includes tools, methods and processes necessary for the development and verification of today's advanced products, including Automotive, Power Sports, and Power Equipment. The DPM Development Systems Engineer will assist with implementation and support of initiatives working with North American Business teams, Japan IT teams and global outsourcing vendors. The DPM Development Systems Engineer may serve as project team member representing CAD and PLM tools when collaborating with other AHM IT Units/Teams and HDMA function group users. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible for tools and processes within assigned CAD discipline oMaintains system functionality and provides user support and training. Documents processes and procedures. oTracks license utilization and proposes adjustments as necessary. oAnalyses current situation to make incremental improvements to systems, methods, and processes oLeads projects related to improvements of existing system. oRecognizes and solves problems with moderate scope and complexity and identifies root cause of these problems oProvides application expertise for users so that they can best leverage our tools to facilitate engineering decisions. oCollaborates with Managed Service and Contingent resources to achieve results. New Technology oKey support role in implementing next generation CAD and PLM tools and processes. oSupport large projects and act as NA PIC/Window Person for Global projects. oImplement steps required to meet desired outcomes for broad and complex initiatives as defined by Team Management oPrepare basic resource plan for implementation and support initiatives oIdentify opportunities for sharing and utilizing CAD and PLM tools across the enterprise thus extracting maximum benefit. oSupport new technology implementation and encourage PDCA for continuous improvement 70 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS Minimum Educational Qualifications Engineering or IT Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience Minimum Experience 0-4 years practical experience Qualified candidates must have basic or working knowledge of at least 2 of these disciplines: oProduct design and manufacturing principles (Design, BOM, Specification, Testing) oEnterprise Product Lifecyle Management Applications (DS 3DExperience, ARAS Innovator, Siemens Teamcenter or similar) oMechanical engineering principles (Stress, strain, force, mass, etc.) oDesign and Manufacturing Applications (CAD, CAE, CAM or CAT) Qualified candidates must have basic or working knowledge of at least 2 of these IT disciplines: oComputer Operating systems, database and application administration oProgramming skills (compiled languages and scripting) oFundamentals of DevSecOps framework oAgile Development methods Other Job-Specific Skills Ability to communicate clearly in writing or verbally Willingness to learn KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Maintain stability of assigned systems Completion of assigned project tasks.
