Concept Solutions is seeking a Solutions Architect who can function as a Systems Administrator (Sys Admin) as needed. The Solutions Architect will provide a cohesive and consistent understanding of the information system “as is” and “to be” states in line with customer requirements. The Solutions Architect will ensure continuity and collaboration between software development, infrastructure and security supporting a DevSecOps paradigm for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Command, Control, and Communications (C3) o?ce. C3 is responsible for ensuring FAA managers have daily situational awareness and continuity of communications in an emergency. This position is in Washington, DC. Or Middletown, MD. Once fully trained, some telework will be offered. As needed, the Solutions Architect will need the skills required to function as a Sys Admin, performing tasks in support of the FAA Emergency Operations Network (EON) infrastructure, including Windows Active Directory network, provisioning servers, executing patching solutions, website monitoring, backups, security scanning, reporting and remediation. DevSecOps technical lead, coordinating efforts between the developers, network operations and security to present one cohesive outcome. Analyze the Information System to capture the “As Is” state Establish a DevSecOps Pipeline with a blue-green deployment strategy solution Work closely with the Federal customer to document their vision of the “To Be” state Establish virtually separate environments for development, testing, staging, and production (blue/green). Develop automated processes to deploy a virtual server and applications/containers/systems, apply patches to hardened base server image(s), and perform automated testing in an on-premise environment Provide recommendations to the customer to better maintain the current state Provide recommendations to the customer of technologies and processes supporting a roadmap to the “To Be” state. Consistently articulate the customer approved solution to the Development, Security and Operations teams Perform as a Sys Admin when needed during a surge in activity: Perform the deployment of software installations, patches, and updates; Provide O&M for the virtualized environments (VMware vCenter 8.x); Provision hardware, storage, resources and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover service; Perform O&M of Windows applications such as Ivanti Security Controls, SQL server, DNS, FAA custom web applications and audit solution; Identify, test and apply system hardening as directed by DISA STIGS and/or other guidelines specific to product or environment Salary: $170K to $195K This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
