Functional Job Title: SQL Server Database Developer (DBA)
Work Location: Fort Collins, CO; Reston, VA, Remote (near a USDA facility)
Team ASRC Federal is actively seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Developer to join our development team. The selected candidate will support a government client in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Position Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Lead or support the database design and database development efforts for specific application project teams;
- Work with internal stakeholders to accurately design relational data models;
- Support database needs for multiple environments (development, test, QA, UAT) in a highly collaborative team environment;
- Prepare scripts for modifying and maintaining production schemas and data;
- Utilize source control to deploy database solutions through Visual Studio database projects;
- Be responsible for SSIS, SQL Code, and Transact SQL routines;
- Assist with SSRS report development and deployment;
- Be familiar with back-end .NET development with skills in web service development and managing the data access tier
There are some operational requirements, but the position need is mostly for SQL Server Database Development for Web based .Net applications and integration with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. Prior work experience implementing large scale relational data warehouse on SQL Server platform a plus. The position could also include some C#/.NET work, so prior enterprise-class web-based development experience would be a plus as well.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of SQL Server Database Design and Administration Experience in an enterprise environment
- Candidates without a college degree will be considered, but must have at least 5 years of direct SQL Server DBA and development experience
Required Skills and Competencies: - SQL Server 2016/2019+ development and administration experience
- SSIS design and implementation experience
- Transact SQL development experience/analysis in an environment that may or may not be using ORM tools
- Familiarity with one or more version control systems such as Subversion, Git, and/or SourceSafe
- Experience writing performant TSQL and keeping current on industry best practices
- Entity Relationship Diagramming skills
- Excellent data analyst and architecture skills
- Experience with data modeling and schema design techniques
- Experience in a remote work environment
- Possess excellent communication skills, the drive to succeed and work independently and on a team, with the ability to multi task, and deliver quality results
Desired Skills: - Experience with Red Gate database tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio database projects
- PowerDesigner experience
- SSRS development and deployment experience
- SSAS design and implementation experience
- Document and Records Management experience
- Experience with data replication, synchronization, and data provisioning
- Experience with mobile and disconnected data stores
- Familiarity with common enterprise analysis methods
- Experience with writing web services and data access classes in .Net
