A leading financial services institution based in the U.S. is currently seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Developer to join their Fraud Services Team. The team is focused on designing and implementing a state-of-the-art real-time fraud detection solution leveraging Confluent Kafka and Microsoft Azure technologies. Responsibilities:

The Senior Developer - Real-Time Fraud Detection will be responsible for:

• Designing and building highly scalable, real-time applications for event ingestion and processing using Confluent Kafka and Azure technologies


• Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members on best practices for developing streaming applications and operating within a cloud environment


• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (including engineers, system integrators, and product analysts) to ensure smooth integration and alignment with NFCU's security and enterprise standards


• Identifying and mitigating risks during the project lifecycle, proactively addressing issues before they impact delivery


• Developing clear and concise technical documentation to support internal teams and external stakeholders


• Supporting deployment, post-deployment warranty periods, and providing ongoing operational support for the system


• Assisting the functional and performance testing teams to ensure the developed solution meets both functional and non-functional requirements

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in Software Development, with 5+ years in designing and implementing solutions on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)


• Expertise in Confluent Kafka or similar message-oriented middleware/streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Event Hub)


• Strong programming experience in Java


• Deep knowledge of Azure Functions, Durable Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and related Azure services


• Hands-on experience configuring Azure Event Hub, Event Grid, and Cosmos DB or similar NoSQL databases


• Solid understanding of Cloud Architecture, including load balancing, auto-scaling, monitoring, and networking within Azure


• Solid problem-solving skills


• Great communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

• Prior experience in Fraud Detection within the Financial Services industry


• Familiarity with the FeatureSpace ARIC Risk Hub platform or similar fraud detection systems


• Experience with other Event-driven or Streaming platforms and Cloud-Native technologies
