Neos is Seeking a Sr. Natural Mainframe Developer for a long-term contract with our client in Austin, TX.

***REMOTE AUSTIN, TX ONLY CANDIDATES RESIDING IN AUSTIN, TX NEED APPLY***

Onsite Requirement: Position may require team members to come into the office for scheduled meetings, and there may be unscheduled requests with seventy-two (72) hour notice for any TWC business need. Therefore, although primarily remote, a local to Austin candidate only needs to be a candidate.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet or exceed the following skills/experience:

  • 8 Years: Experience as a Mainframe Developer/Programmer Analyst with Natural programming.
  • 8 Years: Foundational experience with large-scale, complex mainframe production systems.
  • 8 Years: Hands-on experience in design, implementation, and production support of applications.
  • 8 Years: Mainframe development background in:
  • Design
  • Analysis
  • Coding: Natural programming, TSO/ISPF, JCL, and DB2
  • Other skills: VSAM files.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a global environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize business impact and urgency.
  • Experience performing application support tasks, including systems support, security reviews, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.
  • 8 Years: Experience creating project documentation, including:
  • Technical specifications
  • Process workflow
  • Database record and field specifications.
  • 8 Years: Experience troubleshooting/resolving incidents and business support items in mainframe.
  • 4 Years: Testing experience.
  • 4 Years: Experience in database management systems (IBM Data Studio, Squirrel).
  • 8 Years: Experience as a Programmer, Analyst, or Systems Administrator.

Scope/Description of Services

  • Programming Expertise: Skilled in Natural programming language with extensive experience as a Natural developer and a strong understanding of mainframe systems.
  • Support Roles: Provide support for development, architecture, and administration of projects and mainframe operations, demonstrating strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Program Development: Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe Natural programs and JCL to meet project and operational needs.
  • Collaboration: Work with project and operations teams to create necessary analysis and documentation.
  • Change Control: Adhere to change control processes defined by the agency.
  • Requirement Translation: Interface with business and IT teams to translate business needs into formal technical requirements and application code.
  • Process Automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes through data integration of mainframe and external systems.
  • IT Support Coordination: Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure successful development and implementation of support and project requirements.
  • Testing: Develop and execute unit and system test plans to validate application changes against technical specifications.
  • SDLC Responsibility: Oversee Full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Test Planning: Develop or assist in developing test plans and execute test components to ensure compliance with business requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Review documentation and perform quality assurance to ensure compliance with program and procedural standards.
  • Work Schedule: Maintain a reliable work schedule, with potential for after-hours work to sustain operations or address urgent assignments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned duties to support IT operations.
