For one of our clients, we are looking for a Sr. Rails Engineer, working remotely from United States.
As a Senior Rails Engineer, you will be responsible for owning the technical design of complex features and large-scale projects. With expertise in Ruby, Rails, and web development, you'll tackle end-to-end solutions, manage systems, and debug effectively. Your role will require you to work independently while collaborating with other teams and mentoring junior engineers. You will contribute to code reviews, provide guidance, and suggest improvements that help scale both the codebase and the team. Your ability to prioritize user impact, anticipate scaling issues, and deliver high-quality software will be crucial for the role.
Accountabilities:
Own and deliver full-scale projects from ideation to execution, ensuring code quality and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user stories and align technical solutions with business goals.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the codebase, maintaining high standards for readability, performance, and testing.
Provide constructive feedback through code reviews and mentoring of junior engineers.
Actively troubleshoot and resolve issues in production, ensuring smooth deployment processes.
Participate in the on-call rotation and assist in problem-solving during critical incidents.
Requirements
3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
Experience in debugging complex systems and delivering scalable solutions.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
Experience with mentoring, code reviews, and contributing to team growth.
A passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry best practices.
