Sr. Software Developer
Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a Sr. Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full-time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, MD 20670. Telework will be permitted, however, the candidate must be able to visit the customer site at Patuxent River, MD 20670 (St. Mary's County Maryland) for occasional on-site support. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be located within ~90 minutes of Patuxent River, MD 20670.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the full range of software development lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support within an agile environment.
Develop new features for existing applications using ColdFusion, C# .NET, and JavaScript.
Collaborate using agile methodologies and participate in daily scrum meetings.
Engage in customer meetings to gather requirements and provide updates.
Contribute to alternatives analysis, software research, and recommendations.
Assist in creating decision briefs for presentation to functional owners.
Participate in planning meetings to strategize project deliverables.
Utilize GitLab for code configuration management.
Provide comprehensive documentation for test plans and test steps.
Engage in unit testing and participate in peer code reviews.
Maintain currency of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) documentation and associated security requirements.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
High School diploma or GED is required.
BA/BS and 10 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- Associates degree and 14 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above -OR- HS/GED and 16 years related experience performing the roles/responsibilities listed above.
To be considered, degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Experience and proficiency with software development using Adobe ColdFusion and .NET, along with JavaScript frameworks such as Knockout and React.
Experience with transactional databases and the ability to write SQL (DDL/DML) using SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance (interim required to start).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as Lambda and RDS.
Experience in migrating monolithic applications to microservices architecture.
Practical experience in AWS cloud technologies/solutions.
Experience with agile scrum development practices.
Knowledge of 508 compliance standards.
Experience with GitLab, including project planning, managing milestones, tracking tasks, issue assignments, and version tagging.
Familiarity with automated testing applications, such as Azure DevOps and Subversion or similar tools.
Experience with project management tools like Jira.
Active SECRET clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:
The annual compensation range is $125,000 to $155,000, commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.
Other compensation may include discretionary bonuses, referral rewards, and spot awards.
