Purpose

They are now seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join Intergrid’s Customer Delivery & Operations team. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you’ll own and develop the end-to-end automation system integration journey for industrial clients. From interface design to on-site commissioning, you’ll help bring modern electrification and optimisation solutions to life.

You’ll work closely with Software Development, Analytics, and operational teams, as well as with customer technical teams and system integration partners, ensuring smooth deployments of Intergrid’s remote control systems.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical roots in industrial automation or electrical systems who is ready to level up into a technical project leadership position. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of automation and data interfaces between Intergrid’s platform and customer systems.
• Own implementation projects from kick-off to go-live, including system architecture definition, technical coordination, and customer alignment.
• Work on-site with customers and automation contractors to oversee installations, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges, often in dynamic and complex industrial environments.
• Map out data flows, design system interfaces, and define communications protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profinet, REST APIs).
• Continuously improve integration playbooks, documentation, and reusable assets for scale.
• Act as the technical point of contact throughout the delivery process, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Background & Requirements

• Several years of relevant experience in industrial automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing industrial automation solutions, preferably in process environments.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet).
• Experience with PLC programming or industrial automation system configuration.
• Understanding of electrical design and systems, with the ability to collaborate effectively with electricians and automation contractors.
• Strong project management and technical coordination skills, including documentation and communication.
• Fluent in Finnish and English (both written and spoken).
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites in Finland and occasionally abroad.
• Presence at our Helsinki HQ (Kalevankatu 30) — this is primarily an on-site role.

Nice to have skills

• Familiarity with modern interface technologies (e.g., HTTP, REST APIs).
• Familiarity with the energy sector or reserve markets.
