Based in Timonium, Maryland, our team is committed to pushing the boundaries of gaming to deliver unparalleled experiences to players worldwide. We are currently seeking a talented UI Programmer/Skinner for a 6-month contract to bring our strategy game's user interface to life. You'll be the artistic wizard who transforms our wireframe UI into a visually stunning experience that resonates with our game's epic scope and immersive depth. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement finalized UI elements such as buttons, dialogs, and other interface components.
• Collaborate with the UI/UX design team to understand the game’s aesthetic and functional goals.
• Ensure UI elements are optimized for various platforms, maintaining high performance and visual fidelity, and create a seamless and enjoyable player experience throughout the game
• Iterate and refine designs based on feedback and user testing
• Work with the development team to integrate UI components into the game engine smoothly.
• Apply best practices in UI design and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in game development.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a UI Programmer/Skinner or in a similar role within the video game industry.
• A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UI design, particularly in creating polished, game-ready assets.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and player psychology
• Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and XML.
• Good understanding of UI/UX principles relevant to game design.
• Experience with Realtime game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine), integrating UI elements into them, and basic knowledge of C++ coding and scripting
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Passionate about video games with a keen interest in creating engaging user experiences.
