As a member of the senior technology management team, we’re looking for a VP of Software Engineering who is passionate about delivering high quality Data and AI powered technology products and services that will enable next generation care delivery models for seniors. As a senior technology leadership team member, the VP of Software Engineering will oversee the engineering of high-quality data and AI-powered technology products. They will also serve as a strategic translator and operational integrator, bridging the gap between Product, Data Architecture, and AI teams. This role is crucial in guiding the design of a data-driven architecture, ensuring the effective deployment of AI tools, and enabling scalable care delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CIO and requires strong technical background, thought leadership, solid coding skills, great team management skills, and business acumen to understand the context of each solution. The role will also help ensure hyper growth and scaling of software product delivery, developing, and executing all phases of application development, partnering with product and development leaders to optimize product delivery. Lead, build, and grow world-class engineering teams (Enterprise Architecture, Full-stack Software Engineering, Mobile, and DevOps) to help us deliver products & services to significantly improve healthcare experience and clinical outcomes for seniors. Build a next-gen integrated healthcare application ecosystem for Consumers, Providers, Health Plan Operations and Brokers with close partnership with Product, Data Engineering and Data Science leaders. The VP will act as a liaison between the Product, Data Architecture, and Operations teams, translating business needs into scalable and executable product and software development strategies. Execute strategic projects in multiple different areas simultaneously by working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate closely with the Data Science and Data Architecture teams to translate models into usable tools that improve clinical outcomes, drive decision-making, and streamline operations across the enterprise. Design and align the development roadmap and direction of the team. Evaluate and own strategic technology decisions that balance near and long-term tradeoffs Work directly with product management and your team while analyzing and decomposing complex software requirement into simple stories for planning and execution. Be the technical leader for product features, responsible for ensuring that development activities are coordinated throughout the development cycle. Work closely with Product leaders to set a long-term vision for reusable tech platforms, APIs, and core services that support multiple applications and stakeholder needs. Drive initiatives to embed real-time data analytics, AI insights, and intelligent workflows into operational processes, enhancing automation, risk stratification, and care management effectiveness Own end to end application quality throughout the development, testing and deployment phases to ensure great consumer experience and delivery expectations are met. Actively participate in software development activities: coding, code reviews, testing and production support. Drive engineering excellence leveraging software engineering best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, and maintainability. Work closely with business partners to ensure that the right capabilities are delivered. Hold regular design and architecture sessions to ensure that software solutions are optimized for operational use cases, scalability, and data interoperability. Minimum Experience: 10+ years of Software Development experience with a proven track record of building and commercializing high quality software applications 7+ years of experience leading an engineering team through multiple product/platform releases to deliver highly scalable B2B and B2C applications Have prior experience successfully building and delivering new product/platform from the ground up. Experience in leading complex projects that require a deep understanding of the cloud/web application architecture, security and platform dependencies Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Node.js and LogicApss Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and relational databases. Experience with containers: Docker, Kubernetes Experience in Azure, AWS, GCP or other cloud ecosystems. Experience in NoSQL databases. Experience in building responsive web UIs, using a modern framework including like React or Angular as well as and end-to-end testing tools Experience in design and implementation of large-scale web applications, APIs, frameworks, and databases. Demonstrated experience designing, creating, testing, and consuming robust and resilient API’s including REST APIs with a focus on security, high availability and scalability. Demonstrated experience with recruiting and managing world-class technical teams, including performance management Education/Licensure: Bachelors in Computer Science or related field Other: Strong computer science fundamentals, in-depth understanding of OOP, algorithms and data structures, concurrency design, and server-side development. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across organization, including other engineering teams, functional operations teams, and executive leadership Demonstrated ability to effectively lead remote, offshore and nearshore teams Success delivering products/services in a high-growth environment, exhibiting strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous customer-focused problems communications Track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in an agile, dynamic startup environment Passionate about building and fostering good engineering practices and processes. Experience in following software development best practices through architectural reviews, CI/CD build automation & deployment, code reviews, automated test frameworks and continuous performance monitoring Excellent leadership; oral and written communication skills.
