The client is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer III
Project Details: We are looking to pursue a short-term engagement (3-6 months for 30-40 hours a week) to have someone help us with the initial setup, configuration and modeling of a data warehouse in Redshift or Snowflake and work with our internal team to do some initial data transfers to that environment.

Will close to submissions on 12/27/24 at 4:00PM CST.
Top Skills & Years of Experience:

5+ years of experience in the following
- Experience in multi-system data integration
- Experience with data integration through extract, transform, load (ETL) & ELT patterns
- Experience with data modeling and relational database design
- Experience with data warehouse architecture, maintenance, and auditing/logging
Nice to Have:

- Experience with enterprise data integration tools (e.g., Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services
(IICS) Data Integration, Informatica PowerCenter, dbt) preferably IICS Data Integration
- Experience with structured and unstructured data
- Experience with cloud data storage (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake)
- Experience with data virtualization platform (e.g., Denodo)
- Clear & effective written and verbal communication

Contract Duration: Through 6/30/2025 with the possibility of extension.
Onsite or Remote? Candidate must be a CURRENT WI resident or willing to relocate. 100% remote allowed in the State of Wisconsin.

Job Summary:
The Data Warehouse Developer will assist in the initial setup, configuration and modeling of a new data warehouse in Redshift or Snowflake for the School of Medicine and Public Health. The person in this role will work closely with our data warehouse team, BI developers, software engineers and external partners to build our new academic and administrative data warehouse (AADW) as part of the UW-Madison transition to Workday in July 2025.

The Data Warehouse Developer will report to the Director for Data Analytics.
Responsibilities:

- 50% Perform data warehouse design and testing, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation
- 30% Design, develop, and maintain relational databases for data storage and data mining.
- 15% Assist internal database team with initial data transfers into new warehouse.
- 5% Seek continuous improvement in performance of data warehouse and ensure security of data.
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Pay range: $58 to $65 per hour on W2.
