Brief Description:
The Front-end Developer is a position within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department, reporting to the Director of Web and Mobile Platform Development. This position supports the development, maintenance and expansion of web platforms with a focus on design (both UX and aesthetic). They will serve as a member of the team of developers and designers collaborating with faculty, staff, business analysts and technologists to build new experiences and solve problems at the frontier of graduate education in theology, psychology and culture. They will need to understand and apply design thinking as an iterative, problem-solving methodology.
Duties:
Collaborate with Director for Web and Mobile Platform Development on the design and implementation of web sites and applications that enable the exploration of new pedagogical models and user experiences.
Work with Director for Web & Mobile Platform Development and other team members to coordinate team time and priorities
Communicate team actions and directions to Director for Web & Mobile Platform Development
Collaborate with teams responsible for branding on updates to layout templates
Develop and implement visual identity design from style guide and improvise on the themes therein.
Create design mock-ups and solutions as needed to develop and visually communicate project plans and goals
Provide intermediate troubleshooting for production sites
Provide design input on UX and aesthetic issues in the Fuller digital ecosystem
Provide technical advising and backup for other team members (programmers and designers).
Develop and strengthen skill sets with strategic mentoring relationships within and outside the institution.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Understanding of project management methodology as project lead or team member
Must be a voracious learner
Ideal candidate possesses patience and a good sense of humor
Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Must demonstrate an ability to read, explore, understand and support PHP, CSS, and HTML code written by other people
Must be self motivated and exercise independent judgement in prioritizing tasks
Experience WordPress based PHP development required
Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience required, in a related field desired
Desired Skills:
Experience with MySQL query syntax and database troubleshooting
Experience with User Testing and User Driven Design Principles
Experience with UI / UX
Experience with higher ed

This position is offered as a hybrid role primarily working out of the Pasadena, CA campus or **a fully remote position subject to payroll state tax approval by Fuller Theological Seminary
Pay Scale:
Salary range the seminary expects to pay: $69,000 - $75,000 annually USD
