What You Will Do We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to join our team in support of the Communications and External Affairs Office - Multimedia Production Group's Web Team where you will develop, maintain, and architect a variety of applications that have impacts across the entire Laboratory. The Web Team provides essential services for web development, training, and web accessibility. This position will be filled at either the Software Developer 3/4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level. Software Developer 3 ($101,700 - $168,200) You will work on the full breadth of technology which supports the internal and external public facing web domain of the Laboratory. You will be doing full stack web development in support of our dynamic Multimedia Production team, using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node JS, React, NextJS, and more. You will also be expected to handle performance concerns including troubleshooting web browsers, mobile devices, technical SEO, and accessibility. Software Developer 4 ($112,000 - $186,700) In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level you will be expected to lead personnel, projects and deliverables, mentor junior developers, and advise leadership. You will also lead the research, recommendation, and implementation of technologies aligned with key organizational strategic initiatives. You will be expected to innovate technology and tools being used and to identify opportunities to as they related to the team's technical capabilities. It will be key to make long-term plans and execute on them to preserve and/or expand our capabilities. You will also be asked to advise leadership on strategic planning issues as they pertain to technology and technical capabilities. What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Extensive experience in full stack web development using JavaScript and TypeScript. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD practices. Expert-level proficiency with Amazon Web Services. Expert-level proficiency with all layers of full stack web development and related tools. Expert-level understanding of key concerns in web productions, such as technical SEO, accessibility, performance, and mobile devices. Additional Job Requirements for Software Developer 4: In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires: Proficiency in software project and issue management, including the use of tools such as Asan, JIRA, GitLab, or GitHub. Demonstrated experience leading a development team in a technical and personnel capacity. Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 8 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable. Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 12 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected. Desired Qualifications: Experience implementing, managing and/or maintaining a UI Design System. Experience with Artificial Intelligence tools and technologies. Experience working in a large enterprise and/or governmental environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and good relationships. Ability to effectively communicate complex matters to a diverse audience. Work Environment: Work Location: The work location for this position has the potential for remote work. Remote work is defined as working offsite that is greater than 2 hours of the Laboratory location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer. Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status. Incentive Compensation Program: At the higher level, this position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
