For this contractor assignment, as a Systems Engineer Senior, you'll join an application integration team, which includes infrastructure design and support as well as vendor and partner management. The team is comprised of a few Leads, a couple Seniors, and a couple Intermediate resources plus a manager.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoots and repairs infrastructure defects that affect system performance and availability without disrupting production. Responds to users regarding abnormal system operations.?

- Participates in the business recovery and continuity processes, working with others to train on recovery processes, making recommendations for changes to procedures as necessary, testing processes, and exercising the processes.

- Works with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues and maintains support relationships.

- Responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting infrastructure, including fulfilling requests that necessitate environmental changes.

- Coordinates and maintains environment changes, which includes gathering requirements for iteration changes and advising on optimal hardware, software, and infrastructure changes.

- Monitors the infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and makes recommendations for the elimination of areas that are susceptible to failure.

- Associate's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline, Math or other related field of study and minimum of four years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems.

- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of six years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems may be accepted.

- Knowledge of FTP protocols- SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, etc.

- Knowledge of API and REST protocols

- Linux support (RedHat OS preferred)

- Outside vendor B2B support

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with peers, internal customers, and external trading partners

- Strong documentation skills

Preferred Skills:

- IBM Sterling File Gateway or other enterprise class data transfer applications

- Experience in configuring file transfers and providing infrastructure support, including application upgrades and configurations

- Windows distributed environments support

- GFS2 (or other) cluster file system support

- Cloud enablement (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)

- SSH key knowledge

- PGP key knowledge

- Working knowledge of security certificates

- Knowledge of IBM's Connect:Direct

- Stonebranch enterprise job scheduler experience
