The Public Service Commission (PSC) provides human resources services to the Government of Alberta. The Learning and Development (L&D) Branch in the PSC designs and delivers programming for the Alberta Public Service (APS) with the goal of helping the workforce achieve its goals. Within the L&D Branch, the Talent Management Unit supports executive development and corporate succession planning for Alberta Public Service (APS) executives, including Executive Directors (EDs), Assistant Deputy Ministers (ADMs), and Deputy Ministers.

Reporting to one of the unit’s Team Leads, the Executive Development Coordinator provides logistical and program support to facilitate implementation and delivery of executive talent management initiatives.
What you'll do:
As a key member of our team, you’ll support the planning, coordination, and delivery of executive development program work. This includes:
Program Support
Prepare materials, reports, and briefings for executive leaders.
Create content to support internal communications (e.g., correspondence, FAQs).
Design resources, materials and tools to enable program delivery (e.g., session agendas, checklists, meeting minutes, participant binders).
Stakeholder & Issues Management
Manage sensitive enquiries and provide thoughtful, accurate, timely responses.
Identify issues for resolution, offering options and recommendations.
Coordinate projects by monitoring program timelines, tracking deliverables and communicating with project team members and/or the project sponsor.
Program Administrative Coordination
Coordinate end-to-end logistics for meetings and events.
Maintain organized and secure records.
Manage program webpages and sharepoint sites.

The minimum recruitment standard for the Program Services 2 (PS2) classification is: University graduation in a related field; no experience required.
Equivalency: Directly related experience can be considered on the basis of 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following assets (i.e. “nice to haves”):
Experience with Alberta Public Service (APS) programs and structures.
Experience supporting executives/senior leaders.
Experience supporting corporate programs for a large, complex organization.
Experience coordinating event logistics.
Project management experience.

Location and Hours of Work:
Our office is located in downtown Edmonton. Alternate work locations are not available at this time, however hybrid work options may be available on a case-by-case basis, subject to government policy and operational viability.
Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm. Hours of work are 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week. Modified work hours may be available on a case-by-case basis, subject to government policy and operational viability.
Final candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including verification of academic achievement and up to three reference checks, one of which must include their current supervisor. Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate.
