After five months of solo development, I’m building a small, high-impact team to accelerate our mission of making math intuitive and accessible. Responsibilities Critical Thinking: Analyze user feedback, propose innovative solutions, and refine requirements to balance usability, performance, and scalability. Software Development: Design, develop core features (e.g., numerical plotting, model simulation, interactive UI) using TypeScript, React, and WebGL or similar technologies. Technical Ownership: Contribute to architecture decisions (e.g., how to implement spreadsheet math replacement), and ensure code quality. User-Centric Focus: Advocate for user needs, drawing on insights from math, engineering, or education domains. Skills and Experience Technical: Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React for building responsive, interactive web apps. Experience with numerical computing, data visualization, or plotting libraries (e.g., Plotly.js, D3.js, or WebGL for Desmos-like dynamic plots). Familiarity with mathematical modeling, simulation, or computational tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, NumPy, or Math.js). Bonus: Experience with block-based UI (like Simulink) or real-time computation for math apps. Product Design: Proven ability to translate user needs into technical requirements and prototypes. Experience designing intuitive UX for technical or educational software. Experience: 3+ years in software development, ideally with exposure to math, engineering, or edtech products. Experience at companies like Desmos, MathWorks, or similar (e.g., Wolfram, GeoGebra) is a strong plus. Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
